St Francis Accepts Invitation to National League

St Francis FC are pleased to announce that our application to be part of the new Football Association of Ireland (FAI) National League has been successful. As a founding member of the National League, the club looks forward to working collaboratively with the FAI and fellow clubs in what represents a significant step forward for football pathways and player development

This marks a major milestone in the history and ongoing development of St Francis FC, underlining the club’s ambition and long-term strategic vision. It represents a clear statement of intent regarding the standards we seek to uphold and our determination to compete at a national level while continuing to build sustainable foundations for the future.

Speaking on this milestone, our chairman Kevin Smith Senior said: “This is a landmark moment for St Francis FC and clearly demonstrates our ambition to progress in a sustainable and professional manner. We are proud of this and excited for what lies ahead.”

Director of Football Simon Madden also welcomed the news, highlighting the significance for players and development pathways: “This is a fantastic outcome for the club and for everyone involved in our football programme. Being part of the FAI National League provides a clear and structured pathway for the players and club. It reinforces our commitment to player development and creates opportunities for everyone at the club to progress within a strong, competitive environment.”

Admission to the FAI National League reflects the considerable work undertaken in recent years and is a testament to the commitment, professionalism and dedication of all those involved with the club, both on and off the pitch.

We now look forward to the challenges and opportunities that participation in the league will bring, as the club continues to grow and proudly represent its community within the national football framework.
